The Palmer House Hilton Hotel, the venue of the Congress, is a piece of Chicago’s construction history. The Palmer House is the oldest continuously operated hotel in the United States, having opened first in 1871. It was rebuilt in 1875 following the great fire and rebuilt again in 1925 to designs by Holabird & Roche.

The hotel recently underwent a thorough restoration, including the hotel’s famed Peacock doors, the Emipre Room, the Grand Ballroom, and the Grand Lobby, whose ceiling has twenty-one painted panels with scenes from Greek mythology. Hotel guests will have complementary access to the on-site fitness center, the swimming pool, and a connectivity station.

Technical sessions of the Congress will be held in the sixth floor of the hotel to offer numerous networking opportunities for delegates. In addition, a block of renovated hotel rooms is available for reservation by Congress delegates. The hotel is located on E. Monroe Street within the downtown Loop area.

The Palmer House Hilton Hotel is offering delegates of the Fifth International Congress on Construction History the following special rates:
  • Single or Double occupancy: $209 per night
  • Triple or Quad occupancy: $234 per night
